Penderyn's Rich Oak expression has become a permanent part of the Welsh distillery's range! This single malt is initially aged in bourbon casks, but is then allowed a finishing period in rejuvenated European ex-wine casks, adding a helping of fruity freshness to the vanilla-heavy profile.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Honeyed cereal and tangy tropical fruits (think mango and papaya). A whiff of old oak furniture hangs around in the background.
Palate: Spiced apple cider, generous vanilla, toasted barley and waxy peels.
Finish: Banana fritters, more honey, subtly floral as it dissipates.
