We do love a good Glengoyne, and we do love when whisky is bottled up at cask strength, and right here we've got where those two affinities meet – it's another batch of Glengoyne Cask Strength! This one has been drawn from first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, refill casks, and a few bourbon barrels, and has been bottled up at a robust 59.6% ABV. Terrific stuff, packed to the brim with flavour and character.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Ripe plum and juicy red grapes, with hefty helpings of malt and honey alongside.
Palate: Caramelised apple with a touch of green apple brightness, cassia, black pepper, dates, toffee pennies.
Finish: Lasting sweetness of brown sugar and prune.
